One of the plastic water tanks harvesting the rainwater from the roof, was overflowing in a few minutes. This water is used in our household to flush the toilets and general washing.

A 'Whip-cracker' in action in a 'Katina Perahera', Avissawella, Sri Lanka.

At the end of the 'Vas' period (rainy season), Buddhist monks come out of their retreat. A robe is stitched by the 'Dayakayas' (devotees), taken in a "perahara' (procession) and is ceremonially handed over to the Head Priest. These are pictures from the 'Perahera'.

'Sri Pathula' at Thimbiripola, Avissawella, Sri Lanka.





 A beautifully cut foot-print, on the top of a rock lying adjacent to the banks of the Seethawake Oya. Easier to reach it by boat.
