This re-call of times between the early years 1940 to 1960, covers the boyhood years of the author. The early part of the book relives the scenes in a tea-estate in Rathnapura, Sri Lanka. The latter half covers life in Jaffna. Various incidents of this period are related with a sense of humor. The stories related will I am sure, pluck your heart-strings. The old bridge built during the early part of the Twentieth Century is replaced by a wider concrete bridge.

Kuruwita close to Rathnapura and Bus stand Rathnapura, Sri Lanka.

Kuruwita was a railway station on the narrow-gauge railway line, where the pilgrims to Sri Paadha - Adams Peak would disembark. This was the entry point for the walk to the top of Adam's Peak. The route was steep and would go through Eratna.
